This was my first real attempt at running a social media page, back when I was in secondary school. I taught myself the basics of After Effects specifically for it, spending evenings figuring out keyframes and transitions just so I could put my own spin on the ‘memes’ that were doing the rounds at the time. Some of them actually managed to get a fair bit of reach — more than I ever expected from something I was making in my bedroom — and a few even made their way across the Atlantic to my American friends before I’d properly met them, which still amuses me to think about now. Fair warning: this page is slightly NSFW, as the humour of that era leaned heavily on the legendarily ridiculous Ricardo Milos, and the memes very much reflect it.
